Who is Your House History?
I am Pamela Speirs BA (Hons).
I took a degree at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle upon Tyne in the late 1990’s on ‘The History of the Visual Arts in the Modern Period’ where I specialised in architecture. Since then I have further developed my interest in the social and local history in particular in Southern Scotland.
I have now been researching properties for clients over a number of years. Having been brought up in North Northumberland I moved to the Scottish Borders in 2004 where I continued my research service.
I thoroughly enjoy searching local archives and map collections, doing the detective work then fitting all the pieces together to make an interesting report. It is fascinating and rewarding work especially as you never know what you will turn up. One of my research projects was published in The East Lothian Life Summer edition 2009 on a farm cottage at Birnieknowes and an article about me and what I do was published in the Berwick Advertiser in 10 May 2012.
In 2011 I launched my website and I am now happy to offer this unique House History service to property owners across East Lothian, Southern Scotland and Edinburgh.
